Richard Blane Rose, 64, of Hermiston died Wednesday, May 4, 2011, at Kennewick General Hospital in Kennewick, WA. A graveside memorial service with military honors will be held Saturday, May 14 at 2 pm at the Hermiston Cemetery.  Mr. Rose was born Dec. 10, 1946, in The Dalles to Richard and Mildred Mikkalo Rose. He attended The Dalles High School until 1966 and then went in to the Army. He was a veteran of Vietnam from 1966 to 1968 and on Sept. 4th. He married Marvella Picard (Morris) in 1968 in Hermiston. The Roses moved to the Hermiston area in 1972 from The Dalles. They raised several foster children and provided shelter care. Mr. Rose is survived by his wife, Marvella Rose of Hermiston; son Eric Allen Coburn of Portland; brother Robert Rose; and two grandchildren and two step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Janet Sugie; and brother Roger Ray Rose. Memorial contribution may be made to Burns Mortuary of Hermiston to help with expenses.
