Marilyn Rose Falbo Surman

Marilyn Rose Surman, a resident of the Portland area for the past 18 years and former resident of The Dalles, died at a  Portland hospital, Monday, July 13th.  She was 38.  Mrs. Surman was born Nov. 10, 1948 in Richmond, CA and moved to The Dalles with her parents in 1952.  She was a member of the Catholic Church.  She graduated from The Dalles High School in 1966 and graudated from Portland State University.  She taught school for the Portland School District in Special Education at the elementary level.  She is survived by her husband, Robert B. Surman, Milwaukie; two step-daughters;  Debra and April Surman; her parents, Frank and Velma Falbo, The Dalles; one brother Tony Falbo, The Dalles; aunts and uncles including Ralph and Joan Falbo, The Dalles; her grandmother, Mrs. Rose Falbo, Sacramento, CA.  Recitation of the rosary, followed by Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Peter's Catholic Church on Thursday, July 16th at 10 am.  The Rev. Hank Albrecht will officiate.  Burial will follow at St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Percy, John and Jim Ballinger; Bob, George and Peter Macnab.  Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.  Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
