Eileen Anne Glavey, 50, a resident of The Dalles, died at her home on Thursday, Feb. 11, 1999.  She was born May 18, 1948 in The Dalles, the younger of two children to James Edward and Edna Marion (Howell) Glavey.  She attended St. Mary's Academy through the eighth grade.  Then she graduated from The Dalles High School in 1966.  She worked at Otto's Caramel Korn & Ice Cream at age 15, then later worked at Payless Drugstore Downtown and Columbia Park Hospital.  She was a member of Saint Peter's Catholic Church.  She enjoyed the Oregon coast, time with family, embroidery, reading, garage sales and had a good sense of humor.  Survivors include her mother, Edna Glavey of The Dalles; her sister, Frances Glavey King and her husband Elroy King of The Dalles; nephew and his family, Stuart, Kristin and Peter Lunsford of West Warwick, RI; nieces and their families, Cathie, Mark, Mike and Patty Coles of Wasco; Revs. Mary and Jesse Kearns and son, Graham, of Lynchburg, VA; aunt, Jane S. Howell of Salem; cousins including Florence Horton of Albany, Doris Mc Elhinny of Salem, Mike and Linda Glavey of Tualatin, Don and Nona Wisner of The Dalles, Earl and Janie Wisner of Colville, WA, and Nadine Haines of West Linn.  Pallbearers include members of the Class of 1966:  Roger Howe, Bill Thomas Jr., Larry Thomas, Bob Seufert, Arnold Harding, David Cochenour and Zack Worth.  Other members of the class are honorary pallbearers.  Recitation of the Rosary will be held at Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home at 7 pm on Sunday, Feb 14.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am on Monday, Feb. 15 at St. Peter's Catholic Church with Rev. Todd Unger as celebrant.  Vault interment will follow at St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to Bread & Blessings, Wasco County Animal Shelter or St. Mary's School Foundation.
