Terry Wayne Zeigler, 52, a resident of The Dalles, died at his home on Monday, April 3, 2000.  He was born Feb. 19, 1948 in Harvey, ND, the oldest of six children to Felix Owen and Gloria Ardella (Volk) Zeigler.  He and his family moved to Anaconda, MT in 1956 and then to The Dalles in 1958.  He graduated from The Dalles High School in 1966.  From 1966 to 1969, he served in the US Navy during the Vietnam war.  He was a supervisor at NW Aluminum and a member of the Catholic Church.  Boxing was his favorite sport and he was a two-time Golden Glove Champion for his weight division.  He enjoyed restoring classic cars, including his 1955 Chevrolet Nomad and playing guitar with his brothers and son in a garage band.  He also enjoyed fishing, traveling and spending time with his family.  He is survived by his son, Ryan and Marie Zeigler and their sons, Jacob and Maxwell, all of Lyle; his daughter and husband, Renee and Jeff Shaw of Fairview; his sisters and their husbands, Teryl and Darrell Dafoe of Colorado Springs, CO; Peggy and Steve Willman of Beaver Falls, PA; his brothers and their wives, Jeff and Dichera Zeigler, Charlie Zeigler and Robbie and Caroline Zeigler, all of The Dalles.  Memorial services will be held at Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home on Saturday, April 8 at 12:30 pm with Asa Jenson officiating.  Interment of cremains will follow at St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Gorge, 751 Myrtle St., The Dalles, OR 97058 or the American Cancer Society, PO Box 1265, The Dalles, OR 97058.
