Gale Lee Remington, 60, a resident of The Dalles, died at a local care facility on Sunday, August 10, 2008.  He was born Nov. 3, 1947, in The Dalles to Everett and Ora (Moyer) Remington.  He grew up in The Dalles and graduated from The Dalles High School in 1966.  Upon graduation, he moved to Pendleton, where he attended college, receiving his Associate's degree.  He married Irene Prentice on Sept. 17, 1973, in The Dalles.  He had one daughter.  He worked in the foundry for Goldendale Aluminum for many years.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, metal detecting, camping and "anything outdoors" and was a member of the Eagles and the NRA.  He is survived by his wife, Irene Prentice of The Dalles; daughter, Gayle Lynn of Springfield; sisters, Jo Webb of Augusta, GA and Janet Sedey of Bend; numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his mother and father.  Viewing/visitation will be held on Saturday, Aug 16th from noon to 6 pm at Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home.  A memorial service will be held on Sunday, Aug. 17 at 1 pm at the Faith Lutheran Church in The Dalles.
