Arnold Fountain Harding

Arnold Fountain Harding, 61, a resident of The Dalles, died at his home on Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2009.  He was born in The Dalles on Dec. 31, 1947 to Charles F. and Hazel V. (Shough) Harding.  He grew up in The Dalles where he graduated from The Dalles High School in 1966.  He married Dorinda Kay Farrens on July 24, 1971.  He lived in The Dalles all of his life, except when he was serving in the US Navy.  He was a tow truck driver, loved spending time with his family and enjoyed square and round dancing, which he did for 35 years, animals, watching car racing and driving his tow truck.  He is survived by his wife, Dorinda Harding, The Dalles; sister, Kristen Thompson and her husband Bud; nieces Jenney and Rebecca Thompson; great-nephew Danti Piersce; close friend, Jeff Renard and many cousins.  Memorial service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 29 at 1 pm at Gateway Presbyterian Church with military honors and Pastor Jim Hazlett officiating.  Private cremation was held at Winquatt Crematory in The Dalles with arranagemetns under the care of Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home.  Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Gorge or Home At Last.
